New Genex Employees Trained for On-Farm Success
SHAWANO, Wis. - Eight new employees have completed an extensive training program at Genex Cooperative, Inc., a bovine genetics cooperative headquartered in Shawano, Wis. During their training, these individuals studied cattle reproductive anatomy and physiology, synchronization and heat detection as well as dairy and beef genetics. They also received hands-on practice in semen handling and artificial insemination technique so that they may provide high-quality cattle reproductive service to U.S. dairy and beef producers.
These eight new Genex employees include Clem Bettencourt of Modesto, Calif.; Ana Contreras of Spencer, Wis.; Jordan Ellison of Rice Lake, Wis.; Wyatt Harguth of St. Charles, Minn.; Tim Heiring of Platteville, Wis.; Christine Riordan of Fulton, N.Y.; Devin Sumption of Porter, Minn.; and Adam Warzynski of Eyota, Minn. Each has a strong education and background experience in animal agriculture.
Bettencourt has joined Genex as an Area Sales Representative serving northern California. Previously, he was a self-employed A.I. technician with experience in marketing cattle genetics.
Contreras provides cattle reproductive service in central Wisconsin. Contreras is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in animal science. She has prior animal agriculture experience from working as a veterinary assistant.

Ellison is working with producers in western Wisconsin. He is a graduate of Chippewa Valley Technical College with an associate's degree in animal science, and previously owned and operated a 60-cow dairy.
Harguth, who worked on a beef ranch and has prior part-time experience with Genex, is now providing service to dairy and beef producers in southeast Minnesota. Harguth is a graduate of Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minn., with a degree in agricultural business.
Heiring serves cattle producers in Wisconsin's Grant, Iowa and Lafayette counties. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a bachelor's degree in animal science and a dairy emphasis.
After graduating from the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill with a bachelor's degree in animal science, Riordan is working with producers in Jefferson County, N.Y. Her dairy industry experience stems from her family's dairy farm and an internship on a 300-cow dairy.
Sumption provides reproductive service to herds in northern and western Minnesota. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Morris and has prior experience working for a Limousin cattle producer.
Warzynski joined the Genex team serving southeast Minnesota. He previously earned an associate degree in veterinary technology from Rochester Technical and Community College in Rochester, Minn., and worked on several dairy farms.
