Trained and Ready to Improved On-farm Profitability

SHAWANO, Wis. - Five new Genex Cooperative, Inc. employees have completed a two-week comprehensive training program, and joined the cooperative's professional staff providing bovine reproductive service to cattle producers across the U.S.

"Our training program prepares field employees for the everyday challenges of providing reproductive services for dairy and beef producers," said Tom Bjelland, Genex Vice President of Domestic Marketing. "The program includes extensive instruction in artificial insemination (A.I.) techniques including estrus detection and synchronization, genetics, business management procedures and Genex programs. This training is only the beginning of our extensive employee education programs as employees continue to develop and learn the newest reproductive techniques throughout their careers."

Among the graduates are individuals now serving in Michigan, Minnesota, New York and Wisconsin.

Marvin-Kramer.jpgMarvin Kramer is a Genex District Services Coordinator serving Michigan's Hyron and Sanilac counties. As a District Services Coordinator, he provides complete cattle reproductive management including A.I., heat detection, synchronization protocol management, and data input and analysis. Kramer and his wife Janet reside in Harbor Beach, Mich., with their family.

Joseph-Rahman.jpgJoe Rahman is a District Services Coordinator in south central Minnesota. He attended Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minn., studying agricultural business. Rahman was raised on a dairy farm where he gained experience in A.I. Now, he and his wife Tanya reside in Owatonna, Minn.

Mohammed-Touir.jpgMohammed Touir is a Breeding Program Specialist in Dane County, Wis. Touir is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Farm and Industry Short-Course and has taken additional courses in grazing management. He has 12 years of experience working in mid-size dairy herds. Touir, wife Latifa and their family live in Madison, Wis.

Mike-Decker.jpgMichael Decker is a Regional Services Coordinator in western New York. He attended Davis College and the State University of New York at Morrisville. He possesses a strong dairy background having been employed as a herdsman. He and his wife Lynnette live in Locksport, N.Y., with their family.

Matt-Polk.jpgMatt Polk is a District Services Coordinator serving the Reedsburg, Wis., area. Matt is a graduate of Kirkwood Community College where he studied beef production management. He previously helped to manage his family's cow calf operation. Matt and wife Paige reside in Madison, Wis.
