Allen Concludes Successful CareerHap-Allen.jpg

SHAWANO, Wis. - With a strong passion for dairy cattle and dedication to those in the industry, Hap Allen has served members and customers of Genex Cooperative, Inc. for 17 years.

Throughout his career, Allen significantly contributed to the growth of Genex and its predecessors. Originally an agricultural educator and dairyman from Michigan, he first served members of the cooperative at Noba, Inc. in Tiffin, Ohio. He was the Operations Manager at the time of the merger between Noba, 21st Century Genetics and Genex. After the merger, Allen was based in Ithaca, N.Y., and oversaw Genex marketing within the eastern United States. In 2006, he moved to Shawano, Wis., as he was named Associate Vice President of Dairy Development. He promoted the cooperative and the industry across the United States and Canada.

A distinguished graduate of Michigan State University with an incredible ability to relate to dairy professionals, Allen has held positions on numerous dairy industry boards and committees. He was also instrumental in organizing the first North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge and has served on the board of directors since.

While his professional career came to a close with his retirement on April 30, 2008, Allen's unwavering enthusiasm will continue to positively impact the dairy industry.

Genex is a subsidiary of Cooperative Resources International (CRI). CRI, a member-owned holding cooperative, is comprised of three subsidiaries: Central Livestock Association, AgSource Cooperative Services and Genex. The CRI Mission Statement summarizes the goal of CRI: "To provide products and services as effectively as possible to maximize the profitability of members and customers worldwide while maintaining a strong cooperative."
