New Genex Employees Complete Extensive Training Program
SHAWANO, Wis. - Two new employees of Genex Cooperative, Inc., have successfully completed their initial training. The week-long program presented at the headquarters in Shawano, Wis., equipped participants for their careers within the cattle artificial insemination (A.I.) industry.
Throughout the training program, students learned about cattle genetics and reproductive systems, semen production, marketing, and Genex products and programs. Hands-on learning was an important part of training in semen handling and A.I. technique. This training was the beginning of an extensive employee education program. These employees will continue to develop and learn the newest reproductive techniques throughout their careers at Genex.
Dave Huser will be serving the members of central Wisconsin as a Market Development Associate. He will be responsible for providing A.I. service while also receiving training in support functions for various programs. After 20 years as an owner-operator of a dairy farm, he brings his own industry experience and expertise to the cooperative. Huser holds a bachelor's degree in animal science and resides in Vesper, Wis., with his wife and three children.
Providing relief sales and service support as a District Services Coordinator is Jim Burkhead of Manitowoc, Wis. Burkhead holds a bachelor's degree in agricultural services and development from Tarleton State University in Texas. His diverse experiences on dairies and ranches have given him a solid background for his new position in the A.I. industry.
