Pregnancy and Profit: The Ultimate Advantage
SHAWANO, Wis. - USDA's new evaluation for sire fertility, Sire Conception Rate (SCR), reaffirms Genex Cooperative, Inc. is the fertility leader. The new SCR, more accurate than the former ERCR evaluation, is now based on pregnancy checks, first through seventh services, inseminations in the last four years and an expanded number of records from across the country. ERCR was based on non-return data, the first service only and inseminations in the past three
years.
To maximize profits, today's producers need high fertility combined with profitability through high Lifetime Net Merit (LNM) rankings. The chart, at right, demonstrates Genex leadership in providing producers with this ultimate advantage.
Based on active Holstein sires ranking high for profitability (80th percentile LNM and above) and positive for SCR, Genex has more sire options than any other U.S. bull stud. For instance, Genex has eight sires in the 80th percentile for LNM over +3.0 SCR.
Fertility leadership is not a one time event for Genex. The cooperative has had number one status since a sire fertility evaluation was first released in 1988. What makes Genex the leader? Genex leads the industry for fertility based on semen processing and evaluation procedures, and research and development. In addition, the in-house fertility database consisting of over 1.6 million inseminations recorded by our 650-person service force and the high standards held to the sires in our lineup, gives Genex members and customers the ultimate advantage in pregnancies and profit.
Genex is a subsidiary of Cooperative Resources International (CRI). CRI, a member-owned holding cooperative, is comprised of three subsidiaries: Central Livestock Association, AgSource Cooperative Services and Genex. The CRI Mission Statement summarizes the goal of CRI: "To provide products and services as effectively as possible to maximize the profitability of members and customers worldwide while maintaining a strong cooperative."
