Genex Employees Complete Basic Training
Fifteen new employees from across the country are now trained and ready to improve farm profitability. After completing an extensive two-week training course at Genex Cooperative, Inc. headquarters in Shawano, Wis., these new employees are ready for an exciting career in the artificial insemination (A.I.) industry.
The training program prepared these individuals through detailed classroom sessions focusing on genetics, reproduction, business management procedures and Genex programs. New employees also were given plenty of opportunities to experience hands-on training in cattle A.I., estrus detection and synchronization programs.
Participants in this class will be serving in various capacities as they return home from training. Whether service or sales is their focus, they are ready to help producers increase profitability.
District Services Coordinators and Regional Services Coordinators are responsible for providing insemination service, sales, and genetic and reproductive development to herds. New District Services Coordinators and Regional Services Coordinators include Allison Moore, Castleton, Vt.; Erin Laframboise, Addison, Vt.; Tim (Lawrence) Blanshard, Starksboro, Vt.; Steven Kuszlyk, Batavia, N.Y.; Lynnette Cruger, Eaton, N.Y.; Matthew Alvarez, Malboro, N.J.; Andrew Williams, Orbisonia, Pa.; and Jerry Hudson, Manitowoc, Wis.
As a Breeding Program Specialist, Eddie Gomez will help producers implement strategies by providing reproductive and genetic services around Visalia, Calif.
As an Area Program Consultant Apprentice, Aimee Rice of Ashville, Pa., will spend her time delivering support programs, providing reproductive service and working on public and member relations projects.
From Jordan Valley, Ore., Morgan Johnsrud will begin working as a Beef Team Leader. In this position, he is responsible for providing genetic, reproductive and consulting services to beef customers as well as leading and developing members of his team.
Also participating in this training school were two interns from the GENESIS MOET (Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer) facility near Shawano, Wis. Kourtney Glenister of Pulaski, N.Y., and Michelle Wozniak of Pulaski, Wis., will spend the fall semester working with the donor and recipient females as well as caring for young calves.
Genex is a subsidiary of Cooperative resources International (CRI). CRI, a member-owned holding cooperative, is comprised of three subsidiaries: Central Livestock Association, AgSource Cooperative Services and Genex. The CRI Mission Statement summarizes the goal of CRI: "To provide products and services as effectively as possible to maximize the profitability of members and customers worldwide while maintaining a strong cooperative."
