Genex Genomic Sires Prove Worthy in August Proofs

SHAWANO, Wis. - In January, the first sires with genomic proofs made their debut and topped the Genex Cooperative, Inc. lineup. With the addition of daughters, those elite genomic sires of yesterday are now the elite daughter-proven sires of today.

The power of genomics is evident in the industry's leading Lifetime Net Merit (LNM) sire, 1HO8784 Badger-Bluff Fanny FREDDIE. First released as a genomic sire with no milking daughters, this breed leader now has 60 and still stands over +$900 LNM (84% Rel.). Furthermore, he's the number one Productive Life bull at +8.9.

The proof of 1HO8778 Charlesdale SUPERstition-ET added more confidence in genomics. SUPER hails as the number two bull for LNM out of all sires with milking daughters. Now with 94 daughters, he climbed to +$797 LNM. This SUPER-star also excels in health traits (+7.9 Productive Life, +2.1 Daughter Pregnancy Rate) and is over +3.00 for PTA Type and Udder Composite.

1HO8658 Co-op Oman LOGAN and 1HO8631 Kellercrest Bret LES CRI-ET earned excellent genomic proofs. Now, they have 88 and 114 daughters respectively, and rank in the top two percent of the breed for LNM. LOGAN is a calving ease sire with over +1700 Milk, +2.25 PTA Type and +2.57 Foot & Leg Composite. LES specializes in udders and health traits with a +7.2 Productive Life and +3.6 Daughter Pregnancy Rate.

As FREDDIE, SUPER, LOGAN and LES transitioned from genomic to daughter-proven, their elite proofs remained stable demonstrating the accuracy and effectiveness of the genomic model. As sires like these prove themselves worthy, new opportunities arise for other genomic sires like 1HO2683 Wa-Del SEBASTIAN-ET, 1HO9208 Pine-Tree Martha SHAMPOO-ET and 1HO2565 Langs-Twin-B Cr CASSINO-ET.

At +$824 LNM and +2332 TPITM, SEBASTIAN is a valuable mating sire. His combination of outstanding health traits and evaluations over +3.30 for PTA Type, Udder Composite and Foot & Leg Composite are unparalleled.

SHAMPOO, also available in GenChoice 75TM, has already established himself as a high-ranking genomic bull (+$829 LNM, +2314 TPI) that sires healthy, long-living, tall, deep and fancy cows.

CASSINO transmits the complete package for any breeding program: +$800 LNM, calving ease, correctness in both udders and feet & legs, low somatic cell score and longevity (+6.9 Productive Life).
