Genex Announces Graduates of Training Program

SHAWANO, Wis. - Genex Cooperative, Inc.'s training program has prepared three individuals for employment in the bovine genetics industry. Ivan Akimenko of Kiel, Wis., Angela Eichorst of Truxton, N.Y., and Travis Todd of Pyrites, N.Y., completed the training program in early November and joined Genex service teams. Ivan-Akimenko.jpg

With completion of the training program, Akimenko serves as a part-time breeding program specialist in Wisconsin's Calumet County. In this role, he provides cattle reproductive services to the cooperative's members and customers including artificial insemination, corrective mating, cattle genetics and reproductive product sales. Akimenko has several years of experience working on dairies within eastern Wisconsin as well as within Germany. Angela-Eichorst.jpg

Eichorst also serves as a part-time breeding program specialist. Eichorst, originally from Waldo, Wis., is a graduate of Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland, Wis., with a degree in dairy herd management. In the past, she and her husband, Robert, dairy farmed in Wisconsin. They currently dairy farm in New York. In addition, Eichorst was previously employed by Genex for three years. Todd, who formerly worked for Genex for five years, re-joins the cooperative as a breeding program specialist after spending time in the trace mineral industry. He works full time with a team of Genex representatives in St. Lawrence County, N.Y., to provide complete daily cattle reproductive services.
