on of highly reliable proven sires. QUEST is the Genex Cooperative, Inc. progeny testing program. The program focuses on sampling and identifying future sires that will enhance profitability by siring daughters that are healthy, reproductively efficient, long-lived and productive. The Genex QUEST program samples 200 Holsteins, nine Brown Swiss and over 20 Jersey bulls annually.
QUEST herds are able to sample genetics that are a generation ahead of others today! QUEST sires offer genetics that lead the industry for Lifetime Net Merit and are selected on criteria that continues to evolve into future industry trends. QUEST herds are located in every region of the country, and QUEST semen is distributed randomly throughout those herds to achieve a highly reliable, unbiased sire evaluation.
Benefits of participating in QUEST:
- Access to young sires of the highest genetic level
- Incentive credits (payments) for each QUEST heifer calf with unique identification in the DHI system
- Incentive credits for each milking daughter in the QUEST sire's first two USDA sire summaries
- Highly reliable young sire graduates
- Early daughters on newly proven sires
To qualify for QUEST:
- Remain on a milk testing program officially recognized by USDA
- Keep accurate, unique animal identification
- Record calving ease
- Assist with breed organizations for type evaluation
- Cooperate with photos/tours of QUEST daughters
